 Project Tittle   Computational Design of Trimetallic Borohydrides as new Hydrogen Storage Materials
 Project No   119N719
 Project Coordinator   Adem Tekin
 Abstract Hydrogen has a great potential in the future as a carbon-free energy carrier. However, there are major challenges such as storing hydrogen in an efficient way waiting to be addressed to have a sustainable hydrogen economy. For this purpose, metal borohydrides took a special attention due to their remarkable gravimetric hydrogen density. However, it is not possible to extract all hydrogen content from these borohydrides at moderate temperatures, due to the fact that metal borohydrides are too stable thermodynamically. Adding transition metals into single metal borohydride hopefully reduces the thermodynamic stability of the material suggesting a low decomposition temperature. In this project, due to the limited number of experimental crystal structure of trimetallic borohydrides complexes, we have a plan to investigate the crystal structure and various chemical and physical properties of different novel trimetallic borohydrides compounds in a way to find out more about their stability and decomposition energies by means of computational chemistry.

 Project Tittle   Computational screening of hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites
 Project No   119Z493
 Project Coordinator   Adem Tekin
 Abstract Hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites with a general formula of ABX3 attracted an enormous interest as light harvesting materials for new generation photovoltaics. Methylammonium lead iodide ([CH3NH3]PbI3), which has been firstly used in liquid dye-sensitized solar cells in 2009 and then its thin film has been used in solar cells in 2012, has started a great acceleration in scientific studies for perovskites. Low cost, ease of fabrication, high solar absorption and high efficiency are among the most important advantages of perovskite solar cells. The highest efficiency (14 %) in ABX3 type perovskites has been reached with methylammonium lead iodide by using single A, B and X components. Since lead is the main component of perovskites produced until today, one of the major disadvantage of perovskites becomes the toxicity problems during device fabrication, deployment and disposal. Some computational and experimental studies have been conducted so far to replace lead with other metals and it has been shown that tin and germanium could be a weak opponent of lead in ABX3 type perovskites.

This project aims to find new A1A2BX3 type perovskites employing an exhausting computational screening study

 Project No   MAB-2020-42808
 Project Coordinator   Murat Okatan
 Abstract Hücre dışı sinirsel kayıt sistemleri kullanılarak anestezi altında olmayan deneklerden davranış sırasında tekil sinir hücreleri düzeyinde aksiyon potansiyeli kayıtları alınabilmektedir.

 Abstract PRACE, the Partnership for Advanced Computing is the permanent pan-European High Performance Computing service providing world-class systems for world-class science. Systems at the highest performance level (Tier-0) are deployed by Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland, providing researchers with more than 17 billion core hours of compute time. HPC experts from 25 member states enabled users from academia and industry to as certain leadership and remain competitive in the Global Race. Currently PRACE is finalizing the transition to PRACE 2, the successor of the initial five year period.
The objectives of PRACE-6IP are to build on and seamlessly continue the successes of PRACE and start new innovative and collaborative activities proposed by the consortium. These include: assisting the development of PRACE 2;
strengthening the internationally recognised PRACE brand;
continuing and extend advanced training which so far provided more than 36.400 person·training days;
preparing strategies and best practices towards Exascale computing,
work onforward-looking SW solutions;
coordinating and enhancing the operation of the multi-tier HPC systems and services;
and supporting users to exploit massively parallel systems and novel architectures.A high level Service Catalogue is provided. The proven project structure will be used to achieve each of the objectives in 7 dedicated work packages. The activities are designed to increase Europe's research and innovation potential especially through: seamless and efficient Tier-0 services and a pan-European HPC ecosystem including national capabilities; promoting take-up by industry and new communities and special offers to SMEs; assistance to PRACE 2 development; proposing strategies for deployment of leadership systems; collaborating with the ETP4HPC, CoEs and other European and international organisations on future architectures, training, application support and policies. This will be monitored through a set of KPIs.
