Gerek kampüs  gerek kurumsal ve gerekse ulusal/uluslararası boyutta olsun, sahip olunan tüm Bilgi Teknolojisi (BT) kaynaklarının, istediğimiz anda geniş bir kaynak paylaşım servislerine dönüştürülebilmesi ancak grid kavramıyla gerçeklenebilmektedir.

İTÜ Bilişim Enstitüsü Grid Atölye Günlerinin amacı, potansiyel kullanıcıları, uygulama ve altyapı geliştiricilerini bir araya getirerek, grid servislerini nasıl inşa edeceklerini ve yöneteceklerini uygulamalı olarak göstermek ve öğretmektir.
